So, Mr. F DVRs Sky Sports News for all the footie updates. While it's mostly soccer news, they always have other stuff like cricket and darts. Tonight, he was fast forwarding through the boring stuff (read = not soccer) that he doesn't want to watch.
Mr. F: *fast forwards* Tennis...gay...horse racing...gay...
Me: Hey, isn't that the sport of kings?
Mr. F: Yeah...Gay kings.

Swimsuit acheived! And, VACATION!
Okay, vacation first - Mr. Fantastic and I finally got our trip planned. We're going to Puerto Vallarta from the 23rd to the 29th. YAY! I'm so excited for palm trees and ocean and beach and pina coladas. Mmm.
Speaking of the beach, I have found a swimsuit! Hallelujah!
And I actually like it, not just tolerate it as I have with so many swimsuits in the past. I gotta say, it's not half bad. Black on the bottom with an animal-print over the top. I got it at the lingerie store where I buy my special (read = honking expensive) 34H bras - Le Soutien. Suit wasn't too awfully expensive - only about $90, and I was prepared to pay $130. Got a wrap to go with that was on sale for $18, marked down from like $50. The best part is, it's sized like a bra and has adjustable straps and underwires, so it feels as good as wearing my regular bra. Lots of support and the back comes up pretty high so I don't have the back fat hanging out. I'm extremely pleased.
I can finally look forward to a vacation that requires a swimsuit instead of dreading it like usual. I'm totally psyched!

I've been caucused!

I have returned from being caucused.
What I like about the caucus is that instead of going in a little booth and casting your vote in private, you actually stand up to be counted. Literally. Once everyone's all signed in, you go to where your precinct is grouped and you stand with the others who support your candidate. Based on the number of people in my precint who showed up, we were allowed a total of ten delegates. Obama got 7 and Clinton got 3. Early reports are showing Obama is leading Colorado with 65%. \o/
Apparently the caucus took longer than they anticipated because I guess about four times as many people showed up this time compared to the last caucus 4 years ago. I think Democrats are going to show up in record numbers to vote this year.
It was really fun, educational, and inspirational to be part of the process and I'm glad I went. Looking forward to the Democratic National Convention, which comes to my hometown of Denver this year.

Super Tuesday

It's Super Tuesday - if you have the opportunity, you should participate, whoever you're supporting.
As for me, well I'm heading on down to my local caucus location to stand and be counted. For once in my life, I'm actually inspired by a candidate. Barack Obama.

Dear Plague:
FINE. Since you insist on making yourself at home, why must you also give me this disgusting cough? I feel like a leper. NOT ON.
Dear Girl in the Cubicle Next Door:
Look, I really don't think it's just me. Your constant popping of bubble wrap is both annoying to all your fellow cube rats and also says something really disturbingly neurotic about you.
Dear People I'm STILL Trying to Work With:
Seriously. YOU'RE NOT SPECIAL. Okay? I don't care what your parents told you. You're never going to be President, you can't do anything you want and you're not a sweet and special snowflake who deserves every last iota of my attention and patience. I don't care how much you panic at me or how many e-mails you send me with that stupid little red exclamation point attached. I am doing the best I can for you and the 99 other morons who waited until the last minute.
Dear Tylenol Daytime Non-Drowsy Liquid Cold Medication (in CitrusBurst, sorry, Rodney):
Hoo boy, you're not my usual DayQuil. And while it's true, you have not made me drowsy, you have made me loopy, dizzy, and indifferent. I ain't sleepy but I sure shouldn't be operating heavy machinery. But thank you for the bonus of causing me to retreat to new levels of John Sheppard-esque laconic apathy when the People I'm STILL Trying to Work With get increasingly agitated at me. You've made my day much easier.

Dear People Who Spell It 'Damnit':
Please stop. It's dammit, dammit. Even Bill Gates thinks so.
Dear Plague:
You are not welcome here. GO AWAY or I will have to fight you off with more than zinc and whining.
Dear People I'm Trying to Work With:
Yes, I know your request is important and I promise I will do everything I can to get it completed before the freeze. This may be a news flash, but no, you are not a special and unique flower who deserves to be treated better than the hundred other people who also have very important requests they need done before the freeze.
Dear Guy Singing About Pachelbel:
Thanks for making me laugh today. After the morons at work, boy did I need it.

Swimsuit season!
Okay, you guys were so helpful in the sports bra department, maybe you can help me find a bathing suit. I just went and tried some on at Target to get an idea of size - I'm either an XL or a 16 - but none of them had enough support for my breasts. Also wouldn't mind some help in the tummy area.
Any suggestions for where to shop would be great! Mr. Fantastic and I are planning a trip to tropical climes next month, so I need to get on this soon.
Oh, btw, this is the sports bra I ended up getting, and it's awesome. Those babies don't move! It was $58 but completely worth every penny. I adore it.

Well. Not a good time of year for actors, apparently. Actor Heath Ledger dies at 28
Took my dad to see Atonement this evening. We went to this new theater near his house, where we got drinks and snacky things and free popcorn. All around good time, and we liked the movie. It was a bit slow at times but very lush and beautiful and also made me love James McAvoy a little bit.
Before the movie, I stopped by Mummy Fantastic's to check how's she's doing after her fall this weekend. Thankfully, she seems well. Did have to get 7 stitches in her hand but she was in good spirits and said it wasn't bothering her. Poor thing, though, needs to be more careful!
Ooh, and also, I want one of these: Happy Cakes
ETA: Oh, I forgot - at the movie today, we saw a trailer for Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day, which looks awesome and also includes Lee Pace speaking with an English accent. Everybody wins!

Weekend recap (and some other stuff)
Phew! What a weekend. Very busy. To recap, Friday night was my cousins' birthday so a bunch of us went out to celebrate. We went to the Peaks Lounge, this great place at the top of the Hyatt by the convention center with a fabulous view of the mountains. And then we went to see Patsy Decline at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. The show was really fun and humourous. I think my cousins had a great birthday celebration.
Then on Saturday our friends came over for dinner and brought their 8-month-old daughter, Georgia. She's the cutest thing ever. She has red hair. Like real red hair, not the strawberry blonde you see on babies sometimes. Anyway, it was really nice to hang out with our friends and chat, and we played a game and played with the baby. And btw, Mr. Fantastic + baby = OTP. He is SO ready for us to have kids and he's so great with them. Well, we're going to start trying mid-March so hopefully I'll have an exciting announcement soon.
Sunday we went up to Ft. Morgan for our nephew's tenth birthday. Had lunch and then everybody went bowling. Haven't been bowling in ages but it was so much fun! And I scored a 99, which was better than Mr. Fantastic, which is the only thing that counts. Heh. And Mr. Fantastic's brother and his wife paid for everything, which I thought was really cool.
While we were on the drive up, we got a call that Mummy Fantastic had tripped over something in the basement and cut her hand and torqued her knee and had to go to the e/r. Poor thing needed stitches and everything and couldn't make it up for bowling. I think she's mostly doing fine, but if I can ever get my act together today, I'll go over and visit her.
Luckily today is a Corporate Holiday and so I get the day off to lounge around. If it was nice out, I'd be lounging around in my underwear. But since it's not, I'm lounging around in my long underwear. Not quite as fun.
And, here's some other stuf...
Hey, are you reading xkcd? You should be.
So, I know I've mentioned Scientology briefly before and you all know how absolutely NUTS I think it is. Here, you want proof? (As if the fact that it was originally created as fiction and features an alien named Xenu at its core isn't enough.) Check out the Tom Cruise Scientology Indoctrination video.
FYI, these are the shows I'm watching right now. Please feel free to come by if you'd like to discuss any of them.
Big Medicine
Biggest Loser: Couples
Celebrity Apprentice
Celebrity Rehab
Chuck
Friday Night Lights
House
My Fair Brady: Maybe Baby?
The Office
Project Runway
Psych
Real World/Road Rules
Stargate Atlantis
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles
Three Sheets
God, I watch too much t.v. And I'm fairly certain I've left something out. *facepalm*
